Incorrect Regional Settings when Opening the Scouting Program

Why are you getting this message

1.       The scouting program uses the United States English to run correctly.

2.       If a scout has different settings they will receive a message when they open the scouting program “Your computer’s regional settings are not correct. They need to be changed in order to properly use the scouting program. Changes that are necessary are indicated in red. Please correct these settings before proceeding”

How to fix regional settings

1.       Click Ok on the message box indicating that the regional settings are incorrect

2.       All boxes highlighted in red are incorrect.

a.       Click the Fix… button to the right to fix each individual setting

3.       Click ok

4.       The scout will receive a message box “You must reboot your computer in order to make the changes that you made active. Please exit this program and re-start your computer”

a.       Click Ok

5.       Restart the computer

6.       Open the scouting program and they should be able to get in.


Incorrect Calendar Dates

In other instances a scout may be seeing the wrong dates on their Daily Schedule page.

For example, July 13 may be on a Wednesday, but it could be showing up as a Sunday in the calendar.

In this case you can ask the scout to do the following:

Go to the Start Menu
Click 'Control Panel'
Find and select 'Region'
Change the format to 'English (United States)'

This usually fixes the issue.
