List Basics for Offline

Main List Screen

How to Access the screen

1.       Open the scouting program

2.       From the menu on the left click on Lists

3.       Click on the Main Lists Screen Option

Screen Basics

·         When you first enter the screen, you will see lists that you have access to see for this season.

·         There are filters at the bottom of the screen. Certain options will show based on the scout’s security.

o   Dropdown for seasons

o   Sort by scout option

o   All Amateur

o   All Pro lists

o   My Lists

o   Show all Lists

o    System Lists

o   Organizational Lists

·         To the right of the screen, you will see basic information regarding the list

o   What state the list is in. Work in Progress or Complete

o   Type of list

o   Season

o   Scout

o   Description of list

o   Date of list

o   General notes for the list

·         You have different tab listed across the top (which will vary team by team)

o   Lists Maintenance tab is where you see list details

o   List of Players tab is where you see players in that list

o   Rating Tab is where you can see each player on the list broken down by category

o   By Position Tab is where you can see each player on the list broken down by their position.

How to create a new list

1.       On the list maintenance tab click on the new button

2.       Enter in the type of list

3.       The season drop down will default to the current season. Click on the drop-down to change the season if needed.

4.       In the description field fill in the title of your list

5.       The date of list will default to the current date. Click on the drop-down to change the date if needed.

6.       In the tournament drop down select a tournament if your list relates to a specific tournament.

7.       In the General Notes section enter in any notes on your list

8.       Click the save button

How to add a player to the list

1.       Click on the list of players tab

2.       Search for a player, there are two ways to do this:

o   You can click the player search button to search by last name

o   You can click the setup player filter button to set up a filter

3.       On you have found the player click on this name

o   Double click on the player to move him to your list or

o   Use the arrow button across the top to move him

How to Rate a player

1.       Click on a player from the players on list column

2.       Enter in the ratings on the right-hand side of the screen

3.       Enter in comments

4.       Click the Save button

How to Auto Rate a Player

1.       Click on a player from the players on list column

2.       Click on the auto rate button

3.       Click yes to the message box “This feature will go back through your game reports and apply the ratings and comments from your most recent report as the ratings and notes for this list. Do you want to proceed?”

4.       Select your options

5.       Click the proceed button

How to move a player up or down on your list

1.       Click on the player from the players on list column

2.       Use the up and down arrow to move the player up or down

How to delete a list

1.       On the list maintenance tab click on the list you want to delete

2.       Click the delete button

3.       Click yes to proceed

4.       If you have players on the list, click yes to proceed

List Builder

o   This screen was designed for amateur scouts to create a list using a tab and column breakdown.

o   The name of this screen will be different for some clients.

o   Each client’s tabs will be different based on their needs.

How to Access the screen

1.       Open the scouting program

2.       From the menu on the left click on Lists

3.       Click on the List Builder Option

 

Screen Basics

·         All changes are synchronized to work together. When you move a player up or down in the list, it will move the player on both the “North American” and “European” tabs, and on the Overall”, “Specialty”, and “By Position” tab

·         You have a list dropdown at the top of the screen

·         To the right of this, you have your main control features (Edit Info, create list, delete list, etc.)

·         On the left, you have your player search area with filters

In the middle of the screen you will have your overall list of players

·         Each tab will break down your list of players by certain requirements

o   If you move a player up or down on a tab it will affect your overall list of players and where he was ranked.

How to create a new list

1.       Click the Create New List button

2.       Date of list will default to the current date. Click on the drop-down to change the date if needed.

How to distribute a list

1.       Select the list you want to distribute

2.       Click the distribute button

3.       Click on the scout you want to add

4.       Click on the arrow in the middle of the screen to move him to scouts receiving list

How to change the status of your list

1.       Select the list you want to edit

2.       Click on the Edit Info button

3.       Change the status of your list:

a.       List cannot be seen by others

b.       List is complete

c.       List is a work in progress

4.       Click the Save button

How to add a player to the list

1.       To search for a player, click on the player search button to search by last name

2.       You can use the filters to search for players by draft status (Draft Eligible, Underage, priority players, players you have scouted or players from a league.

3.       On you have found the player click on this name

o   Double click on the player to move him to your list or

o   Click on a region tab (North American or European)

                                                               i.      Drag the player to the appropriate region

How to delete a player from the list

1.       Select the player you want to delete

2.       Click on the DEL button

3.       Click yes to the message

How to rate a player

1.       Right-click on a player

2.       Enter in your ratings

3.       Enter in any comments

4.       Click the save button

How to Auto Rate your list

1.       Select the list you want to rate

2.       Click on the auto rate button

How to move a player on the list

o   There are three ways to move a player on your list

1.       Right-click on the player

o   Right-click on the player you want to move

o   Change the number in Ranking on Overall List

o   Click the save button

2.       Jump Button

o   Click on the player you want to move

o   Click on the jump button

o   Enter in the number you want to move them to

o   Click the ok button

3.       Arrows

o   Click on the player you want to move

o   Click the up or down arrow to the right to move the player up or down the list

How to copy a list

1.       Select the list from the drop-down

2.       Click the Copy List button

3.       Click yes to the message box

4.       If you want to copy all ratings and notes for each player click yes

5.       Enter in the number of players you want to copy

6.       Click ok

How to delete a list

1.       Select your list from the drop-down

2.       Click on the delete list button

3.       Click yes to the message

Pro and Free Agent Lists

o   This screen was designed after the main list screen was created. It is based on the list builder screen but is meant for Pro and Amateur scouts to create their lists using a tab and column breakdown.

o   The name of this screen will be different for some clients.

o   Each client’s tabs will be different based on their needs.

How to Access the screen

1.       Select the list you want to distribute

2.       Click the distribute button

3.       Click on the scout you want to add

1.       To search for a player, click on the player search button to search by last name

2.       You can use the filters to search for players by Organization, NHL Players, AHL Players, ECHL Players, European Pro Players, Position, Shot and priority players

3.       On you have found the player double click on his name

How to delete a player from the list

1.       Select the player you want to delete

2.       Click on the DEL button

3.       Click yes to the message

How to rate a player

1.       Double click on a player

2.       Enter in your ratings

3.       Enter in any comments

4.       Click the save button

Preliminary Ratings

·         This screen was designed to help teams organize players into groupings at the beginning of the season.

·         Players are rated which helps determine who scouts need to see.

How to Access the screen

1.       Open the scouting program

2.       From the menu on the left click on Lists

3.       Click on the Preliminary Rating Option

Screen Basics

·         When you first enter the screen, you will see everyone that has been placed to a rating.

·         There are filters across the top filter by Region.

o   If you select a region you can filter by League and by team

·         There are filters on the left-hand side of the screen to filter by different types of players

o   Draft Eligible Players

o   European Free Agents

o   Junior Free Agents

o   College Free Agents

o   Underage Players

o   Drafted/Pro Players

·         Players are sorted by alphabetical order

How to add a player to a Rating Position

1.       Select an option using the filter for different types of players

2.       Put a check in Load Players Not Rated

3.       Click on a player listed under players not rated

4.       Drag them to a rating box

How to Remove a player from a Rating Position

1.       Find the player you want to remove

2.       Click on the player

3.       Drag him to Players Not Rated

Organizational Composite Lists

·         This screen opens to an automatically generated list based on the team’s preferences.

·         A team has the option of utilizing Game Reports or another List to make up the Organizational List that displays.

o   If they are using Game Reports, it takes all the game reports done to date and ranks all the players according to the combined game reports average.

o   If they are using Lists, then the program reads all the lists and makes the organizational List from combining all of the lists in the organization.

How to Access the screen

1.       Open the scouting program

2.       From the menu on the left click on Lists

3.       Click on the Organizational List Option

Screen Basics

·         The list is composed from a team’s highest rated to their lowest rated draft eligible players.

·         The players are ranked by round as well as individually.

·         The players current Team, Birthday, Position, Height, Weight and Average Rating are given.

·         By clicking on the “Times Seen” button, you can view how many times a scout has seen each player. The scout’s initials will appear beside the Rating column. Under the scouts initial the number of times they have seen each player this season will appear.

How to add a player to the list

1.       Click on the add player button

2.       Click on Filter Players to setup a filter

3.       On you have found the player click on this name

4.       Click on Add player to List button

6.       Click the proceed button

How to delete a player from the list

1.       Click on the player you want to delete

2.       Click on the Remove player button

3.       Click yes to the message box
